AC Shadows Introduces Unexpected Attack on Titan Crossover for Holiday Season
In a surprising partnership that challenges usual predictions, the game developer has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing free additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Revealed
According to the official release, "A strange meeting draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where rumors of banned ceremonies and fearsome transformations resonate through the obscurity." The storyline presents a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a clandestine group.
The mission centers on "bizarre tests and a monstrous adversary" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Changes
The preview features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer ends with a dramatic sequence showing a character, probably the hostage, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Prizes and Additional Material
Players who accomplish the quest will acquire an exclusive katana together with several items hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Addition
This release also adds the game's latest no-cost story episode, titled "The Mystery." This humorous mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive abilities: Naoe reveals a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns.
