It's tough for the Australian squad to break new ground.

We're talking about the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the record chasers, are the only things left for a squad that has won it all.

That it took up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the pitchers that have represented Australia over five decades.

It's difficult for their batters to hold a record if never given the chance.

In the end, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a chance to deliver her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her country didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

A T20 championship victory came three months after her debut and seven international trophies have followed from 10 tries across formats.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the title decider and was awarded tournament MVP. She made sure her country would not come up short.

If this newest brilliant performance topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Many contend the case for championship match pressure. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was considerably tougher to anticipate.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the assurance to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we know we can succeed."

That comment will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this championship want to hear.

Over the past five days a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this triumph succeeding success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a meeting with longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.
